How to change my phone number in Windows account?

Trying to access recovery keys from my Microsoft account to unlock Bitlocker on my laptop after a software update. Having multiple issues. Trying to update my Microsoft account, but I no longer have the phone number I used when I set up the account. No way to verify. When I try to update to my new number, or access the recovery keys, I am asked to approve the sign-in request in the Authenticator app. I loaded the Authenticator app on my iPhone, but cannot get it to sync with my Microsoft account most likely because of the old phone number. I would appreciate any and all help. Thank you.
