How should i fix my hardware Reserved problem. Will a reinstall of windows Fix this Issue?

I recently Noticed that my RAM has gone from 7.9GB to 5.8GB (I have a 8GB RAM). And i did many thing such as Limiting VRAM and Editing Advance setting in boot by watching some videos online.But Nothing Seems to fix the problem, with that HP have Lock the Advaced Tab in BOIS in my laptop which doesn't even let my to edit RAM in it. IM looking forward on some methods on fixing this problem. While Will doing a clean install of windows will fix the RAM problem.
