How is it that 2 pc's now show the same Thumbnail issues? What's the relation?

Is it a coincedence? Now a Dell desktop and an older Toshiba laptop are both having trouble with thumbnails. I bet you I've tried every selection, check mark, registry hack ... everything that is out there by knowledgable agents and I can't get thumbnails to work right. Try me ... I've probably tried is several times. It's frustration as I need to search image files in explorer and icons won't do? Yes, I've checked only show thumbnails. Yes, I've been into Advanced system settings and changed that. smh Thanks for any other suggestions.
