How do I switch apps in tablet mode with Windows 11?

In Windows 10 when using a full screen app in tablet mode e.g. playing a game, I could swipe from the left to switch apps. In Windows 11 all I get is a useless bunch of widgets when I swipe. How am I supposed to switch apps when I'm using the touch screen without having to use the physical keyboard?
