How do I stop this folder from being created?

In a futile attempt to designate iTunes as a default app for playing videos, I created a copy of the WindowsApps folder on an external drive. Now I want to clean up that drive. I confirmed (I thought) that the folder was a copy, and in another thread, learned how to "take ownership" and delete the folder, as well as another system folder residing there (Program Files). That was yesterday. This morning, after a fresh boot, I see that both folders deleted yesterday are back on the external drive. How can I reconfigure the PC so this quits happening?
