How do I stop my computer crashing while playing games?

After about five minutes of playing a video game, my pc immediately turns off without warning. It seems to happen faster with more resource-heavy games, and happened after about 20 minutes watching a movie on Netflix. While in a game, the task manager shows that a lot of my memory is being used, even sitting in a single player lobby. It looks like I can't post a screenshot in here, I keep getting a message that says the files failed to upload, so hopefully this link works, but it says that the memory is at 7,9 out of 8 GB, consistently, which seemed high to me.
