How do I gain access to HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Perflib and its subkeys?

When I tryto gain access to HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Perflib, I always receive an error saying that, "Registry could not set owner (or security) on the key currently selected, or its subkeys." How do I gain access to HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Perflib and its subkeys?
