How do I fix my local disk D from disconnecting and reconnecting whenever I update a game on it or send files to it?

Whenever I try to update or install anything on my secondary local disk, which is D, or send a file to it, it disconnects and reconnects and pops up like a flash drive does when you plug it in. When this happens, the update, installation or the sending process gets cancelled.I'm using windows 10.
