How do I edit a Windows Phone FFU using DISM?

Hi,

I have a Lumia 1020 in which I changed the registry values to make it install Windows 10 Mobile. But after 2 years of no problems, I got an error message of "boot not found". So I can't access the phone but I also can't flash it using official FFUs.

Considering I initially changed the registry values on my Lumia 1020 to make it think it was a Lumia 950XL, I now assume that is why I'm getting flashing errors because the official Lumia 1020 FFU doesn't recognize the Lumia 950XL name on the phone.

I'm now trying to open the official FFU and edit it's regsirty files to make it accept the Lumia 950XL codes. Problem is, while I can use a 3rd party ImgMount Tool v.1.0.15 to open the FFU, I don't know how to edit the registry files or commit the changes. I know DISM let's you commit changes but I can't use it in the first place to mount the FFU. I get an error 87 or error 50.

Does the DISM tool support Winows Phone FFUs? And if so, how can I use it?

I have a normal Windows 10 installation on my laptop.

Thank you.

I fell like I'm very close o finally being able to undo the mistakes I made and recover my Lumia 1020.
