how do I copy hundreds of vacation photos from my Android S24 to desktop with Windows 11?

Life used to be so easy then you get a new phone and Windows 11 and it isn't so easy anymore! I am a world traveler and can take 100's of photos a month and my Galaxy S24 is linked to my Windows 11 desktop but I can find no way to transfer a large amount of photos from the phone to the desktop. It seems I have to move them 1 at a time. On Windows 7 when you plugged your phone into the desktop USB a message popped up asking if you wanted to import photos but that didn't happen in Windows 11. How can I copy photos from the phone to desktop en masse? Thank you.
