How do I connect to a Minecraft realm when I keep getting the error to authenticate to Microsoft account when I’m already logged in.

I am connected to Minecraft on my Nintendo switch through my Microsoft account, but every time I try to connect to a friend’s realm, it won’t let me log in. It gives the error “You need to authenticate your Microsoft account.” I am logged into my profile on the switch, and I’m pretty sure my account is authenticated. I’ve tried restarting the switch, and logging in and out of the Microsoft account on the switch multiple times. What do I do?
