How do I change my password back?

For some reason Microsoft forced me to change my password after it told me the authenticator app would not work anymore so I went along with it and changed it to a random password and it refuses to let me change it to my previous password. How do I get my old password back because I never wanted to change it in the first place and now I have to use a random password I know I will never remember.
