How can you access an old profile files are on the computer but don't show in the folder?

Hi I have a Dell laptop. A couple of weeks ago, the Window 10 program installed an update and it created a series of unfortunate events. At first my computer was looping on the "Preparing for Automatic Repair". I conducted a diagnostic and everything passed. I then had issues getting to the windows repair screen, which is what all these links state is the first step. I finally was to create a bootable media USB, to get to that screen. Tried the various options with no luck. I also did not have a option for reset PC. One of the boards suggested doing a custom install ( which I thought would jus
