How can my account not exist if I use it every day and am in fact using it right now?

My issue is that I do have my Microsoft account (it does exist and I use outlook on the daily), however, mine is a work account. I am trying to import our contacts into Teams. I work for a medium sized company, and when I try to sign on to Teams (using this link: Sign in to your Microsoft account) it gives me that same error message "That Microsoft account doesn't exist. Enter a different account or get a new one.". How can my account not exist if I use it every day and am in fact using it right now?
