I have deselected Control Panel: Security and Maintenance: Automatic Maintenance: Allow scheduled maintenance to wake up my computer at the scheduled time, but Windows 10 is waking my laptop hibernated on AC power for scheduled maintenance and leaving the machine running. I wish to stop this behaviour to reduce the risk of losing any unsaved data and to minimise wear of my laptop's backlight.

- John_P. suggested that the difference in behavior is dependent on undocumented settings that Windows receives from the BIOS.
