How can I get out of S mode

I've recently bought a new Windows 11 HP laptop and I have signed in with my regular Microsoft account. As of right now I am unable to get out of S mode on it, despite everything I've tried. The "Get" button in the Microsoft store is there, but any time I click on it it just says "try again" and that "something happened and we couldn't start the upgrade".
