How can I get my photos from my camera onto my computer?

My laptop doesn't have a way for me to plug in an SD card or for me to plug my camera into my laptop directly, I had to get a converter in order to get my camera hooked up to my computer. It's plugged in, but my computer isn't recognizing my camera. I know it's plugged in the right way because my camera recognizes my computer, but there's no way for me to import my pictures. I've tried going into my device manager, bluetooth, and importing them through my photos, but nothing in my computer recognizes my camera. Is there anyway someone can call me to help me fix this?
