How can I get max performance, FPS, and minimize lag on my game and laptop?

Whenever I play Roblox, the second the app launches, my laptop's fan gets really really loud, and starts heating up (you can keep your hand on the bottom of the laptop without burning yourself, just barely). When I try to move my character in Roblox, it doesn't move immediately like its supposed to, it moves a few seconds after. Sometimes when this happens, I spam click my caps lock button, and the light that shows up when its on is also delayed a few seconds, and turns on a few seconds after I click it, and sometimes when I'm in the middle of my game, this problem appears, and makes the game
