How can I fix "Reboot and Select Proper Boot Device or Insert Boot Media in Selected Boot Device"?

Hi, I am having issue with starting up my computer, it was working fine all throughout yesterday and suddenly my screen froze and was unable to do anything for around an hour. I finally got the PC to restart and the message "Reboot and Select Proper Boot Device or Insert Boot Media in Selected Boot Device". I first looked up common solutions and tried them such as loading default settings in BIOS, switching bootup priorities, checked the SATA cables connected to my SSD (also switched them around), and attempted to reinstall windows through an external hard drive.
