Hitting the windows key turning off my main monitor and making me exit the game?

When I am playing a game and hit the window key my main monitor turns off for about 5-8 seconds then comes back on and when it does i’m no longer on my game. This has only started happening recently and none of the fixes I have tried don't fix the issue.
