Hello there,
I have been having this issue for a while now.
Ever since a windows update some time ago, my keyboard, trackpad and touchscreen have stopped working.
After addressing this issue, the drivers, and getting into the problem, I found out a quick fix.
By disabling the Intel Integrated Sensor Solution, and restarting, the keyboard and trackpad started working again.
Unfortunately, the touchscreen did not.
I waited for more than 6 months with regular software and driver updates to see if the issue will resolve itself but it did not.
I started investigating this issue again today and it turns out a lot of people have this problem and they usually either give up or service their laptops even though its a software/update issue. I am not one of those people.
I came across a sort of helpful post on the HP forum about this:
Solved: ELAN EzTouchFilter / HID I2C Touchscreen Issue - HP Support Community - 7165433
But the support there also gave up just like the user. But, later on someone else cracked that it is "about the Power Data on the HID device 'I2C HID Device' and changing the power state from D3 to D0 - When I disabled/enabled the IC2 HID Device, the power state changed, then the HID-compliant touch screen appeared in the Device Manager and the touch screen worked".
So this is definitely a software glitch of some sort or whatever.
I need someone to guide me how to do this - so I can get the EzTouchFilter to work (now it says the device cannot start).
Please dont ask me to reinstall the drivers, or check for updates or to see if the touchscreen is working in BIOS because I have been through all of this and those are not the answers.
I would really really really love to have my touchscreen back. I cant service it because i got it in the US and live in Serbia now.
I know Im not the only one with this issue but it seems no one wants to actually tackle it. Please...help me.
