Help! My computer won’t let me sign in or factory reset it.

I had received a computer from a friend of mine and all I had to do was factory reset it. Easy enough I tried to reset it through the lock screen without the password and it was good until I got around 60% and the screen went black and it said it was “undoing changes” and it went back to the Lock Screen. I then asked for the password and gives me the error, “The ProfSvc service failed the sign-in User profile cannot be loaded” and then this case seeming became completely unique and I have tried many things but nothing has worked I have been at this for hours Please Help!
