Headset audio quality drops drastically when headset mic is on?

I'm using a wireless Hesh ANC Skull Candy Headset, I've noticed that sometimes the audio will drop when I initially open Discord, but it comes back to normal after around 10 seconds. I'm trying to play Sea of Thieves and now the audio issue prevails (like it goes beyond SoT) and I do not know how to fix this. I assume it is because the headset has some mic that is auto connecting to SoT which then tanks the quality because when I close the client the audio goes back to normal.
