Headphones With Mic Unable To Be Used As Both

I've recently built a new rig and when I went to call one of my friends, they couldn't hear me. I soon figured out that was because my headphones with a built in mic were only being detected as an audio output, not input. In the other port my headphones only get detected as an audio input. I would like to be able to hear and to be heard, how might I do that?Thanks, Ethan.
