Following Windows 7 update of September 14, 2018, my secondary display no longer works. So far, here are some of the steps I took to troubleshoot.
- Took the display and HDMI cable to another laptop and it worked fine.
- Tried system restore - failed.
- Disabled Avira and Microsoft Essentials security and attempted restore again - failed.
- Removed display driver using Device manager, downloaded installed recommended driver from Intel. No change.
- Removed display driver using Device manager, used the search for driver & install through device manager. No change.
Is there any other way I can check to see if or how my HDMI port would have been disabled by the update? Any other way to test if the HDMI port is functioning?
