HDD only recognized in UEFI

Hi, a friend gave me an hdd that he formatted on his Windows, but mine doesn't recognize it even if it's spining up, I can only see it in my UEFI. I don't see my HDD either in disk management or peripheral manager, I tried various SATA cables, changing RAID mode to ACHI mode, using a tool like EaseUS or CrystalDisk but it didn't work.
