So recently when I was trying to download something, something called PC Accelerator Pro got downloaded onto my computer along with this other thing called Instant Support. Afterwards I started getting popups from both apps and an instant support button would appear at the top of every single window I opened. I did some research and I found out they are viruses. So I proceeded to download some anti virus software since my McAfee subscription expired recently and I wanted to see if I could just remove it for free. So I downloaded Avast, Avira, and Panda GOLD as I heard they were good software and I also heard having multiple anti-virus software is beneficial to the computer
However, when I downloaded them and ran scans with all of them, they all said there were no threats found. I tried moving both apps (PC Accelerator Pro and Instant Support) to the recycle bin and uninstalling them from the control panel, but after that, I still see a few traces of them on my computer. Some windows still have the instant support button (though most of them are gone) and I still see the occasional popup from them rarely. But the biggest problem now is that my browsers don't seem to work anymore. My homepage doesn't load at all (it's Google). The only thing that works fine is YouTube, and only if I click on my bookmark for it; typing the URL in manually doesn't work. Every other thing doesn't work at all. Sometimes Google loads, but when I click on one of the search results, it takes me to a page where it constantly loads then says there is an error. Obviously it isn't a problem with the Internet, since as I said before, YouTube works perfectly fine. This is a big problem. I can't get to any web site that isn't YouTube, meaning I can't even download any software that would help me with this. And while I usually use Chrome, I tried Edge and Firefox, and neither worked at all (not even YouTube worked on those two).
Can someone please help me and tell me what I should do? I'm not really tech savvy, but any help would be appreciated. And can someone also explain to me why YouTube is the only thing that works?
