Has anyone had trouble setting a PIN on new laptop?

[Windows 11]

I am trying to set up a microsoft account on a brand new computer. I have created the username and password however when I select set up PIN it says 'We weren't able to set up your PIN. You can try again, or skip this step and set up a PIN later' It won't allow the skip and I have tried again. It just takes me back to the log in screen??s
