Hard drive randomly became super slow

I was downloading a game from steam on my hard drive and out of no where it just became super slow and it stops the download and continues it. i havent had this hard drive for long its still new and it became slow today and i dont know what to do ive also tried changing the sata cable with a new one and still nothing.
