Hard Drive files disappeared, drive under new name.

A few months ago, I bought a 4TB hard drive for storing files during travel. I later installed many large movie files on the drive for storage. I plugged the hard drive into my laptop today and suddenly, I can't see any of the files I downloaded. The driver used to appear in the system as "My Passport" but now only appears as "local disk." It's a completely new and empty driver with 1.63TB of space. The smaller storage space and different driver names make me think my files are still on the original drive, but they've been hidden for some reason. I recently installed the most recent Windows up
