Games laggy when I reopen them.

When I boot my pc and open a demanding game, it plays fine. But when I close the game and open any game after that, they are all laggy.When I restart it and open the game it plays fine again, and then if i close it and open it, its laggy. Never ending cycle. Any ideas?
