Frequent issues with I2C HID driver

Hello all. I have an Acer Nitro 515-57. Over the course of the months since around July, I have experienced an error with the I2C HID driver. The error code is always “Code 10: A request for the HID descriptor failed.” The problem manifests very inconsistently; some days I can go without an issue, some days the touchpad will not work whatsoever. Mouse freezing is fairly common, but the most common issue related to this is the mouse becoming smooth and sluggish (not sharp and swift like a mouse is supposed to be).
