Imagine you have a customer, let's say "John Smith", who has multiple email addresses like johns@company.com, johns@outlook.com, johns@gmail.com... Wouldn't it be easier if the multiple entries could be merged into one? Now in Outlook 2013, you can do it. Linking multiple contacts for one person lets you get a single aggregated overview of all the information for that contact.
