Fonts: How to change the default, faint, low contrast, very thin font Microsoft insists on using?

This question was originally asked in 2018. I have followed it ever since and none of the suggested fixes have worked for me. The question is now locked. Nobody liked the Windows 10 font color spectrum. Black is now gray, Red is now pink, etc. The "High Contrast" option has been useless for me, as are all the forum answers. I've wasted more than enough time on this over the years. What is really frustrating is that not only is it hard to see on-screen but hard copy print-outs are also faint and in some cases useless. After all the Win10 updates that drive us crazy, why have they not restore
