Folders I had manually customised suddenly all reverted

Quite recently (during a Windows update perhaps) all my folders, which I had previously customised as "General" because that's the way they are useful to me, reverted to whatever-Windows-thinks-they-should-be (based presumably on file types). This is exactly what I don't want. I want a folder of music files to look like a folder of documents/spreadsheets/images/whatever, and this is how I have set up my workspace for many years and it works for me. I know I can change the folders back to something useful to me (ie General type), via the properties page for the folders. However I have hundreds
