The situation is this. I live in the UK and I have two laptops running Windows 10. One of them has a UK keyboard layout and the other one, a refurbished machine, came with a US layout. I went to language settings and added the US layout to my profile but every time I change to using the other laptop and use my network login, I have to select the other keyboard layout from the task bar. I know it is not a big deal but I often forget and end up typing " in an email address instead of @. The solution is to go to:

Settings->Accounts->Sync Your Settings

and turn off 'Language preferences' in the 'Individual sync settings' section. This will remove all your language settings from your login profile so they can be set independently on each computer you use. I could of course buy a replacement UK keyboard for my US laptop but I'm too stingy! Another tip is to add the US international keyboard layout to your local profile so it is just possible with some finger stretching key combinations to type characters such as pound sterling (£) with shift+right alt+4.

I hope this helps.
