fingerprint sensor is not working, how do i enable?

[Windows 11]

I bought my laptop hp elitebook 845 which has a fingerprint sensor. but when i try to set up my fingerprint, it states that "we couldn't find a fingerprint scanner compactible with window hello fingerprint". The biometric device section in my device manager only have the facial recognition(hello windows) software device. All drivers are up to date. what should I do to activate the fingerprint recognition?
