Fingerprint not allowing access in Windows Hello

Hi, I have bought a new Dell laptop and have enabled fingerprints as a sign-in and security option. It works well for everything except Windows Hello to unlock the computer when I first turn it on. Then I have to use the pin which is annoying as I have to switch to that option each time. Is there a way to use the fingerprint with Windows Hello? I don't have the option to remove the pin
