Files gone after transferring files to windows 11 drive with windows 10 PC

Before doing a clean re-install upgrade of windows 11 i plugged the drive into windows 10 PC and copied the files.After installing windows 11, I took out the drive and put it back into windows 10 PC and assigned a drive letter and copied over the files back to windows 11 drive. All the files were there, then I put the drive in to windows 11 and computer wouldn't open curtain things like start menu or search menu and all the files were gone. OneDrive folder was locked. Onedrive folder location error. And was signed out. Other folders were empty
