Hello All,
We have file share on Windows 2008 Server. The storage to the file share is HP SAN and is getting backed up in backup exec 2012.
We have seen on multiple occasions that files in our shares go to their previous dates. This causes data loss.
We have check that there were no restore jobs running when this happened.
Also offline folder sync is enabled, so client PC's can sync offline files\folders.
My question is, is it possible if a user has mounted an entire share as offline folder, and when they connect back to the network the contents of the offline folder sync to the actual network share and that results in the network share files going back to previous dates?
I have done some poking around and found that similar issues are possible.
Is there any way to log offline folder syncs at server level and identify which user or PC is doing it using windows logging?
Your help and inputs are very much appreciated.
Thanks
J
