File image preview on folders

About a week ago or so, I noticed that the folders in Windows (11) was not showing the file image preview on the folder icon like it has in the past. I've read articles/questions here and on other sites and have tried so many things (i.e. uncheck 'always show icons, never thumbnails, clearing the thumbnail cache, making sure 'show preview handlers in preview pane' was checked, ran an sfc /scannow scan in which it fixed some kind of corrupted files. etc). From what I'm reading online, it seems that this is new and the folders aren't going to show the file image preview anymore. Is that correct?
