I got two new Laptops, one with Windows 11 and another with Windows 10 which was upgraded to Windows 11 via Windows Update right after the first boot. In both cases, there was not a way to associate media extensions such as .jpg .mp4 .mkv with VLC or Irfanview. Either the extension was missing in the Default App configuration or Open With was missing the check box to make my selected Application the default. I have fixed all my issues via changes in the registry, resetting applications, etc. I don't need help. I just want to let Microsoft and Microsoft MVPs that this situation is not right and
