failure to install updates

Ok, I have read many posts that complain about automatic updates downloading
updates but failing to install them. After spending hours going though
microsofts help files i found something that fixes the problem, being that i
had the same problem myself. A little incentive there :) anyways the
article doesnt address the problem directly but do the steps and automatic
updates will funcion like it should again.

Bulldog, any chance the below noted steps could help fix the .Net Framework
1.1 installation problem that many ms customers (incl. myself) have been
experiencing......no doubt you have seen(KB928366) problems!

failure to get updates with error 0x8DDD0004

last time i was getting updates , i got a message to install new installation
version. i availed. later i am always getting error 0x8DDD0004. need help
