Factory Reset not working

I previously reset my laptop about a year ago to get rid of unescessary files and it worked fine. after a few months files started to pile up again so I tried factory resetting, but it gave me a blue screen error when I restarted. I didn't think much of it so I tried again and it didn't work again. A few weeks later I tried again, Same blue screen error. Does anyone know how to fix this?
