External Monitors Not Responding After Latest Windows Update

Since installing the latest Microsoft update, my laptop (connected to a docking station for operating without being open and running multiple monitors) has been experiencing an issue where the external monitor does not respond to the keyboard when I close the laptop. This means I can't turn on the screens or access my computer without manually opening the laptop every time I want to use the computer, which is very inconvenient.
