External Lighting affecting screen brightness

I was recently facing some flickering issues when on battery of my Asus Creator Q530 laptop and Asus support told me to update my drivers so I did that. I think this fixed my flickering issues, but now when I am sitting in different lighting settings ie sitting in sunlight next to a window, my laptop will automatically change brightness on battery and when charging.
