External DVD not recognized, no IDE ATA/ATAPI in Device Manager

I'm asking again because I never got an answer that addressed all aspects of my question. I have no internal DVD drive on my laptop with Windows11, no DVD driver in Device Manager, the trick with the command prompt didn't work, and there's nothing that says IDE, ATA, or ATAPI in Device Manager. There is an atapi in Registry Editor, but when I right click > New > Key it doesn't automatically create anything called Controller0. I tried renaming what was created from NewKey1 to Controller 0 and following the directions about New Dword and restarting, but nothing changed. The Registry Editor
