Hello --

Anyone else have the issue or a fix? Details follow.

KB3055042 update occurred overnight, this morning I have now tried restart of Excel (2010), restart of computer, and full cold boot to no avail. I can see the update included a modification related to form control box issues; I'm using a simple text box, not form control.

Doing a very common task for my reports: want to hide the multiple rows of headings for a complex pivot table, but put in place a static Text Box (i.e., not updating from a cell) so the users have a clean and minimized visual. This also allows them to still filter the pivot table using the standard buttons on the first header row of the pivot table. There are far too many rows to use a Slicer, it would be huge and confusing.

When I hide the multiple top rows of the pivot table (above the button row), my text boxes disappear. I have set the properties for each to "Don't move or size with cells" which normally works perfectly. I've tried having them well below the rows to be hidden then moved them, as soon as I get them in place they either immediately disappear or, if I click them with the mouse, they disappear!!

This is a totally abnormal behavior, I have done this hundreds of times with pivot tables with no problems, even when using formula-driven text boxes and when overlapping the hidden rows.

Ideas on how to fix this, short of removing the upgrade to determine if it actually is the culprit? Perhaps an update to the update will be available soon??? :)

Thanks,

Kim
