Ethernet to wifi

After letting someone fix my laptop he said I can't use wifi without this USB plugged into my laptop and it's always so slow, I resetter my laptop and tried using without the USB but I can't seem to change it is there anyway I can change it, I saw I could change with bios but apparently my bios does not have the option to do so and I'm at a loss because I resetted it and now I'm stuck at the connection screen for setup
