Error while attempting to install VCRedist 2005 and 2008

When i try and install vcredist 2005 or 2008 and get to the part where it shows you the current progress ( the green bar ) it progresses a little bit untill it shows me this error"Error 1935. An error occurred during the installation of assembly 'Microsoft.VC90.ATL, version="9.0.30729.6161", publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b 9a1e18e3b", processorArchitecture="x86",type="win32". Please refer to Help and Support for more information. HRESULT: 0x800736FD."how can i fix this? i need to install it for a program i want to use
